My Biggest Energy Takers

We all have things that deplete our energy resources and make us feel drained. It is important to identify these and eliminate them from our daily life. Here are some of mine:

· Caffeine/ dehydration: It’s not unusual for me to get migraines. It’s also not unusual for me to go and down three Monsters. This leads to a caffeine crash of epic proportions and me being dehydrated faster. Then I’m laid up with a headache, extra strength Tylenol, and blinding pain behind my eyes.

· A sedentary lifestyle. I’m a writer. Not the most mobile of professions. I sit on my ass all day letting my brain do all the work, especially in months of extreme temperatures. Sitting down makes you less inclined to want to get up. I should get a hamster wheel or something. At least since I joined the gym I get some solid workouts a few times a week.

· Worrying. I have several anxiety disorders so I live in a predominant state of panic. I worry about everything from the size of my breasts to potential stalkers.

· Resentment/ jealousy. Yeah I’m a jealous girlfriend. I’m not really proud of it. I certainly don’t mind if my boyfriend talks to girls as friends. But if a girl expresses interest it activates my OCD (see above). This is a particular subspecies known as “relationship OCD” where I get paranoid my partner will cheat or leave me. Attractive, right?

· Mess. I thrive in a neat environment. But I find it impossible to keep it that way. Iced tea containers, socks, bras, T-shirts (no food, that bothers my OCD) all litter my bedroom. Cleaning up is a big project.

These tend to be universal. What are some of yours?
