Several years ago I started collecting a series of journals that would hold prompts for you to fill out along with quotes and exercises. They are so much fun and I decided I’d share some with you.
Journal: Do One Thing Every Day That Makes You Happy
Date Filled Out: 1/1/2022
Quote: Find me playing till sunrise for 50 cents and a sandwich.
Prompt: What I would be delighted to do all night for 50 cents and a sandwich:
Response: writing. I am manic so I’d stay up anyway (I wouldn’t even need Monster). Other suggestions are playing games with friends like Midnight Outburst or just reading. Hurray allnighters.
Journal: Do One Thing Every Day That Inspires You:

Quote: Nothing So Difficult As a Beginning in Poesy, Unless Perhaps the End.
Prompt: Write a beginning
Response: She wore an orange tank top that revealed generous cleavage. “They were the first thing I noticed” best friend Alixce would later admit popping her head into Leigh’s dorm room. Two kindred spirits. They have four years ahead of them.

Quote: My future starts when I wake up in the morning and see the light- Miles Davis
Prompt: The future I see for myself in the morning light
Response: Today is Easter. I foresee a day of celebrating at Aunt Jeanette’s house. There will be o-deurves and chess and probably ham. I will finally get to meet Lucas, Eddie and Andrea’s baby. I will nap in the car.

Response:
- voted in the presidential election (2020 and 2024)
