Fall Breezes

The air has a bite of fall today. I love it. Summer is fun, don’t get me wrong. I love relaxing with Justin in his 3 seasons room, his dogs at our feet or on our laps. I love gas station runs, grocery store trips, making late dinners and dancing around the kitchen. I love pool parties now that I’m more comfortable in a swimsuit. I love hearing the crickets chirp over the sound of my fan as I drift off to sleep.

Fall is a whole other ball game. Fall means my birthday. Fall means spookies and ghosts and horror movie marathons and haunted mazes. Fall has a special place in my heart and I’ve never even had a pumpkin spice latte.

After Halloween I start prepping the Christmas playlist. I get started on the presents in September. Cards for everyone. I also plan on starting my anthology in September so I’ll be much more busy with my writing (I took the summer off)

There is just alot of exciting stuff going on in the fall. There’s the Lunar Faire which is really fun in the weeks leading up to Halloween. I remember one time they had a costume contest and the winner was a Angle Fish (we all accepted that this was a fair win. There were also a million people dressed as witches and little girls as fairies. There was a drag show but I skipped it for the fire dancers. And omg, how impressive. I was worried that a girl’s hair would catch on fire. But these ladies (all beautiful, thin women in costumes close to their body so they wouldn’t get singed) knew what they were doing. The sparks lit up the night.

Last year I also went to the Renaissance Faire with some friends. It’s more money than the Lunar Faire because it’s not a pop up faire. If you don’t buy anything (like a drinking horn or a crown of roses) you may be able to salvage your bank account but you should know Renaissance Faire is an investment as an experience. Still I recommended going at least once.

And there’s apple picking, pumpkin picking, hayrides, haunted hayrides, haunted mazes, haunted  houses. While we gently mourn the last few weeks of a beautiful (albeit a bit too hot) summer, let’s get ready for fall!
