Listen to an audiobook. If you want to keep your hands busy through Diamond Art, knitting or collaging (all other things I recommend you pick up on a self-care day) but you have a book club deadline why not rent an audiobook from your local library through Hoopla or Libby. Obviously there is also Audible but libraries are free (which is why I’ll always be a champion of them).

  1. Work on collages. Here is how I work on collages: I take five different colors and spread them across my desk. Then I get the artillery. Giant books of stickers, smaller books of stickers, stamps, stencils, markers and I get to work. Sometimes I make collages with particular themes or people in mind, more often I don’t and the collages just kind of develop on their own.

  2. Diamond Art. I get exhausted from a big piece of paper so now I'm doing smaller pierces of art. I did a large canvas for my mom’s Christmas present (Winnie the Pooh with a butterfly on his nose) but then I went to small canvasses. Like yesterday I got a collection of sea creatures which includes sea horses, turtles and sharks. These are smaller, easier to use as gifts. To be honest though I kind of want to keep all of them.

  3. This is embarrassing but Self-care is about indulging in guilty pleasures. I’m not saying shoot up heroin, but maybe a steamy romance in the bubble bath. You get the picture. 14 year old me learned alot from those books.

  4. I have a journal for current events. Every few days I try to give an update on local news, state news, national news and global news. The problem is there is so much and which to priotize and which to leave out altogether. And then small news can become big news and you’re like why did I not write about this yesterday?
