1. Drama Queen: Everything’s a meltdown with this friend. Didn’t get the seat she wanted at the restaurant? A travesty! Someone wearing the same dress? A felony! Everything’s a national emergency until she gets her way.
2. Rumor Mill: Sure she’s good at absorbing secrets (including yours), but she spits them out just as fast. While it can be addictive to have a friend as a gossip, just remember it’s going to be your secrets she spouts next.
3. The Hyperbole: This friend doesn’t lie, they are just very, very good at exaggerating. They can’t be taken at their word. And the problem is? They are really, really good at what they do.
4. Online Friend: You have never met this person and probably never will. But for now you enjoy each other’s company as you game or talk or send memes
5. The Opposite Sex Friend: Everyone ships you together. Your parents are planning your wedding. But you guys are just interested in gaming or LARPing or whatever you two do together in your platonic relationship. Trust me, they exist.
6. Gym friends: I’m at a point where I want to start talking to the ladies at Zumba/ dance toning, but I’m intimidated mostly because of my dance moves. Tomorrow I’ll make a point of introducing myself and let you know how It goes.
7. Little Miss Perfect. There is nothing wrong with her and that’s the problem. Her kids are well mannered, her husband does the dishes and she just got a second promotion. She is never condescending, rude and that just makes you want to punch her all over again.
8. The Artsy Friend. There’s one in every group. They find recycled clothing and make their own style. They each have a different type of medium- music, paints, writing- but they can master any of them should they choose.
9. Group therapy friends. Seriously this group is a great way of getting to meet other people. Everyone here is looking to get better. Some people are mandated to be here but the rest just want to get well. Just like you.
10. Cheerleader. This person is unconditional. You can talk to this person any time of day or night. A true friend comes along every four years so you better hold on tight.
