Dance in the rain. It may sound silly but it can be cathartic. Allow the water to wash over you, cleanse you and allow yourself to be carefree.
Describe the experience and how it made you feel.
I danced around the —------ Arcade (before it was shut down) in the parking lot when I was very very drunk. It was amazing. My short hair got matted to my face, clothes plastered to my body. My cheeks flushed and wet from dancing so much. I think —---- —------, my boyfriend at the time, and I had an argument that night because some other guy was hitting on me (“eye fucking” was the word my boyfriend used) and I was hypersexual (and undiagnosed) so I was probably not entirely innocent either. —---- —---- once made out in the rain, our lips mingling under the steady downpour.
Will you do it again when you need a boost of happiness? Why or why not?
Yes. I felt like a fairy washed clean by nature. I’d prefer to do it when I wasn’t wearing jeans because when they get wet they stiffen and it’s hard to dance.. And sneakers otherwise I could slip. No objections for white T- shirt (wink). It’s also refreshing and freeing. It might not be the same without the alcohol (alot of things aren’t). And I do wish the place hadn’t gone out of business (cough busted for drugs cough). It’s always more fun to dance in a crowd. I wonder if Justin would be down for it.
Read a book from your “to read” stack, something you’ve been anticipating and know you’ll really enjoy. Dedicate the time and create a comfy nook for yourself while reading.
What book did you select and why did you want to read it?I’ve been reading the Boleyn Traitor by Philippa Gregory. She writes alot of history fiction about the Tudor Era and the Elizabethan Era. It’s somewhat accurate but also embellished and to be taken with a grain of salt.
How did you like this book? Was it what you anticipated?
I loved t his book. When I made my chart of all the books I had read in 2025 it was the top of the list.I had a mounting suspicion of the ending and sure enough, my guess was confirmed. Great ending anyway.
Start a project you’ve wanted to do for a long time but have been putting off. Take a deep breath as you begin, knowing you are doing this for yourself. Allow yourself to enjoy the process,
What project did you begin and why did you avoid making the time for it.
I want to make bookmarks —---- can sell for commission. I’m buying blank bookmarks that come with laminators and tassels and I’m going to paint them and then decorate them with book covers like the ones I made for Christmas. All of whose who received a bookmark really liked them. I’m not sure if they were actually good or not but I might as well try. What’s the worst thing that can happen? No one will buy them.I don’t lose any money. I might even make money. Either way it’s fun to do.
What does this project mean to you?
This project has emerged into a full on crafts project. I’m making cards, tags, bookmarks using all sorts of craft supplies and ephemera. My friend agreed to sell my stuff in her shop where she sells things from local artists. I figure it I make enough money I can hold a small booth at a small crafts fair which might be the ultimate investment. Making crafts is time consuming and labor intensive but when I do it I feel calm and relaxed. A legitimate way I could make money on my own without my family helping me out. However small, it’ll make a difference.
