Create a music playlist filled with songs that make you laugh, smile, or dance and give it a fun name.
How did you decide on the playlist’s name?
I decided on the name “Happy January” because this month is January and I sometimes fall into a winter slump after Christmas so my goal is to maintain happiness and optimism as I enter 2026.
Were there any artists/ bands you stayed away from? How do the songs you added to this playlist differ from your normal tunes?
I stayed away from any songs that could be sad or bittersweet so I left off favorites like Witchita Lineman. I didn’t add many ballads. I went for poppy, upbeat or with alot of guitar.
Make time for something you really love but are too busy to do. Be present in the moment, allowing yourself to completely enjoy the activity.
When did you first start enjoying this hobby?
I started in 2017 when my friend’s family gave me Diamond Art as a present. I started it up again in 2024 and liked it much more. I made a large Winnie the Pooh for Mom, then bookmarks, then sea animals, which I am using for presents.
How do you feel when you get to spend time doing something you love? How can you make more time for it?
I feel free and uninhibited and like I’m building mastery, like I’m good at something, that I am having fun. I try to Diamond Art every day while Mom’s making dinner.
Treat yourself to something. Pick anything that makes you happy, from a dessert to a manicure or new clothes.
What did you treat yourself to and why does it make you happy?
I treated myself to two new journals from Barnes and Nobles (and yes, this journal is one of them). I love filling out journals, considering questions about myself and about the world around me.
How did it feel to reward yourself? Do you treat yourself often enough?
It is actually hard for me to reward myself. I feel guilty and like I don’t deserve things. I probably do treat myself enough. Every month I give myself a prize for not checking.
