Affirmation: I choose happy
This affirmation is about optimism and choosing happiness even in a case of adversity. Here are some tips for choosing happiness
Gratitude is a huge part of happiness. Science says recalling three things you are grateful for every day helps increase happiness. The more you do it the better it feels and the easier it gets
“Stop getting offended” I feel like in today’s culture we are actually looking to be offended so we can be a victim. While there are definitely people out there who are “out to offend”, alot of them just are ignorant or clumsy with their words and not worth getting upset over
This isn’t true for alot of people but I got a lot happier after I got used to being sober. This may not make sense because I was drinking to make myself happier but it was all an artificial happiness. I still “sundown” (no matter the season) but at least I don’t have hangovers, vomnit all over my clothes and broken relationships.
Routines are very comforting. In the morning I do sign language, then piano practice, then breakfast and if I’m taking a class I’ll do it right after. While Mom makes dinner I do diamond art and then after we do reading (parallel and together). The other stuff I do makes up the rest of the day.
“A bad day only lasts 24 hours”
Find joy in the ordinary. Last week I was at the mall. There is a candy store in the mall. I promised myself that I wouldn’t buy anything but then we came across all lthese different kinds of lip balm- Hershey, Skittles and (this is what got me) breakfast cereal. So I got Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Trix. Next time I’m getting the other breakfast pack. So what if I don’t wear lip balm?
Go for a walk. Don’t tell my dad I said this but walking with my dad in the mornings while my coffee is home getting cold……I actually enjoy that.
