August was an excellent way to conclude the summer. I will say my job is still difficult and I am strongly considering resigning. But since I’m in the middle of making that decision I will not discuss my job on my blog until I reach a conclusion.

August Resolutions Accomplished:

  • Attend a pool party. It was a fun party and it was the only time this summer I got to go in a pool (besides Cape Cod). I might go swimming on vacation but last year the water was too cold.

  • My best friend had her birthday at a sculpture garden which is pretty cool. My favorite sculpture was the one with the giant swing so we all piled on and took a picture. Plus exercise from all that walking. All good stuff.

  • I’ve actually been good about doing thirty minutes of cardio and then visiting the machines. I try to do the chest machine, an abdomen machine and a leg machine. I also try to look like I know what I’m doing but I can’t guarantee it fools anyone.

  • Monday (which unfortunately is today) means laundry day. I have to admit it’s nice to have clean laundry when you need it and keep track of your stuff.

  • The scrapbook is not completed but its coming along nicely. This weekend I had to get more cardstock because I got way more pictures than I intended. It’s bordering on a  little creepy.

  • I did make a file for every resident. Not sure what I’ll do with it. I was going to write a story if I stayed but that’s up in the air.

  • I guess I didn’t accomplish many resolutions this month but I did figure out what I want for my birthday: a button maker. When I went to the pool party there was a button maker and we could all make buttons. It was so much fun. I’ve actually wanted a button maker for a while now even before that so I’m really excited.

Goals I Will Continue Working On:

  • Find a dress for my friend’s wedding. I have two new dresses but I’m wearing them to other events. I might look for a green shirt to match a skirt. Either way the clock is ticking. I feel like Cinderella.

  • I will start the Christmas presents for book club. Maybe  in October. I will not disclose what the presents are because like many of my presents it is a surprise.

  • On that note hopefully most of them fill out the survey.

  • I broke the “no Michael’s” resolution because I needed more paper for the scrapbook. Because of that I’m going to stay out of Michaels for the entire month of September unless (unless!) I somehow need something for my button maker. I need to save money since I’ll be staying at an air bnb during the wedding

  • Not all my Friday posts will be about my weigh in although I am still working steadily on losing weight. I also want to do a segment called Flashback Friday’s where I include parts of old diaries.

Goals I Will Abandon:

  • Learn more about website  building/ wix data. September is going to be entirely too busy for that. I’m considering leaving my laptop at home the week I am away just to give myself a break.

  • I might take a class down the road but right now I am pretty busy with crafting, writing, and socializing.

  • I was going to make a  superhero scrapbook for Justin but I decided to make buttons for him instead with his favorite superheroes. It’s more practical (he can actually wear them) and it’ll put my button maker to good use.

  • I might do satirical posts or posts about my weight but I’m going to try to go the journalism route and cover more current events and issues although I would like to stay away from politics as I want this to be a space for everyone.

September is going to be very busy for me and I might not post as often. However, this will only give me more things to post about and provide opportunities for growth.  Which will be welcome considering September is the month I turn thirty.
