Watch the Superbowl

Events:

  • This will be my fourth Valentine’s Day with Justin. We always go somewhere nice for dinner and this year we decided to go to an interesting Korean BBQ place that offers all you can eat packages. Their premium offers a small amount of wagyu steak which Justin has always been interested in trying. I’m kind of excited about trying it too.

  • My aunt always has a superbowl party. And I always watch it (there is a kitchen crowd that just eats and talks, and a superbowl crowd that watches the superbowl, yells here and there and also eats). I hope there’s mozzarella sticks.

  • Compete in the slam team competition. Every year the best poets (the top eight) compete in a slam poetry competition to be on the team. I’ve been competing for several years but never make it on to the team. This year I hope it’ll be different.

  • Banditos is a gaming club that meets at Panera every Sunday and Wednesday. I went a few nights ago and learned yet another new game which I won (beginners luck). They were closing as we were leaving so the employee gave me a free drink. I thanked him for letting us play there.

  • I was going to play at the Open Mic with one of my old friends but he got sick so a new friend volunteered and accompanied me. It was kind of him plus he really knew the song (Thats What You Get).

Housekeeping:

  • I have so many dumb games on my phone that literally just downloaded themselves. I’m getting rid of them next time I sit down.

  • I have a folder of photos of me, me and Justin and me and all my friends. I need to update my bulletin board and photo albums. I like having them on my phone to share with everybody but there is something to be said for a printed photo.

  • I need to free up one of my three email accounts so I can start getting emails again from the majority of the world.

Mental health

  • I’ve been battling a bipolar crash. Even now I’m super sleepy from the increase in medication and the fact that the lithium is making me pee three/ four times a night. I used to wake  up once to pee, if that. Despite my bad dreams, I was used to a good nights sleep and feeling well rested. Hopefully that returns.

Friends

  • My friend, —--, is a avid thrifter. When I was looking for a dress for Justin’s holiday party she sussed out a beautiful Ralph Lauren dress that cost $6.

  • Check in with —----- three times. —---- is spending three month at military school which sucks because she’s one of my favorite people. We chatted the other night and she asked for videos of my poetry which will be performed in a poetry slam on Saturday. I asked about her riding (she loves horses).

  • Amanda is a friend I’ve  had for several years now (she is several things including a poet and a harp player and she does both well). Her talents keep her crazy busy so I’m hoping she can squeeze me in this month,

Reading and Writing

  • I love being in the middle of multiple books. —--’s book  club we are reading I Who Have Never Known Men which I’m listening to on audio. My book club’s book, The Housemaid, I read while I eat. In between, I read For Whom the Bell Tolls, Normal Women, The Stand and a 600 pound book about the presidents.

  • I’m also setting up my own book club at an assisted living facility. We had our first official meeting where we set up rules and regulations. Our next meeting we will decide our first book.

  • I’m hoping by the end of the month I will be done editing my book reviews.

Fitness

  • For the last few months I visit the gym and do a half an hour of cardio. I used to do treadmill and elliptical now I  basically just do bike. I want to have more variety again so I will start doing treadmill and elliptical again. Today I took a class (free!) and she showed us half the machines in the gym. I’m so pumped I’m going to figure out a workout plan so I can get in better shape.

Can’t Complete

  • I can’t finish reading the Philippa Gregory book I was reading with my mom. She didn’t like it so I’ll finish it on my own.
