Some things that make my mom special:

She would always let us “help” make chocolate chip cookies- and then pick two to eat
She was good at “imagination” games- like putting us in “jail”, or playing school or turning off all the lights and making the beds boats
She would invent scavenger hunts for us
She took very good care of us when we were sick, reading to us until we fell asleep
She’d pretend I was a mermaid in the bathtub
She planned my birthdays- mermaid themed parties to tea parties to a laser tag party. My next party is A 100 Acre Wood Party. It still happens
She’s really good at back scratches
She valued our education
She would let me read to her at night from a book of my choice (within reason)
She lets me borrow her jewelry
She can make beautiful homemade bookmarks
She knows the names of all my friends
She gets Christmas and birthday presents for my boyfriend
She lets me host a book club and makes fruit salad every time
She loves us more than anything
