Maybe You Should Talk to Someone Workbook

A few years ago I filled out the Maybe You Should Talk to  Someone workbook based on the bestselling book which I highly recommend. Anyway here are some of my responses, old and updated.

My appearance (described in third person), which honestly applies today except I might have gained more weight (okay, I know for a fact that I did):

She seems confident with a pleasant smile, shortish hair that has a trace of red. Her eyelashes speak “mascara” but actually its all natural. Her pinkish lips have no trace of lipstick. She wears a tight black band shirt that could boast any number of bands: P!ATD, Fall Out Boy, Shinedown, Halestorm, 3 Days Grace. Her breasts strain against the shirt (she’s a DD). She has a little extra weight and some stomach has escaped her shirt. Black leggings, black heels. She doesn’t have a good posture but she tries to sit up straight once she takes a seat. She continues to smile.

What is your greatest challenge right now?-  Living in isolation on because of covid -  Mood swings (Much better than they used to be) / melancholy - OCD - workaholicism - guilt - being single -feeling inadequate/ like a burden

What are the circumstances that brought you here?A) i like workbooks  B) Maybe this could help me deal with my problems. I deal with bipolar disorder and OCD and these lead to certain complications. I want to get control on my checking and I want to be more positive.

What are some feelings coming up as you begin these exercises?

Excitement. I really like workbooks even though I have “rules” like I can’t go on to one question until I finish the one before. And also that I leave no space. It drives me crazy.

How would you characterize this moment in your life?

Very happy. We have just had Christmas morning and I got so much stuff. Books and shirts and a necklace. And some other assorted goodies like a small hedgehog. Will he fit into my menagerie?

Where do you hope to find yourself at the end of this workbook?

I want to be less anxious, less hard on myself, less of a perfectionist, less lazy, more okay with solitude, more spiritual, take better care of myself, remember to be gentle with myself

Tomorrow I will answer these questions again based on how I am today.
