When were you tempted to do something you thought was wrong, just to fit in and what did you decide to do?

I was tempted to try a cigarette behind Shoprite and I did (just one drag). I lied to my parents about going to the local parks and who would be there. It was not good.

How did you handle competition?

I’ve always been very good at handling competition. I did alot of auditioning for summer and high school theater. I just didn’t put too much pressure on  myself. I knew it was just a play.

Were you confident or fearful?Confident. When it comes to grades and auditions, I know I’m smart, a good actor and a good singer. I know I can get good parts and get good marks. In seventh grade, I had a really good feeling when I auditioned for Guys and Dolls. I got Sarah Brown, the lead.

What was it like back then to run for school office, enter a contest, participate in a debate or vie for something else?

I guess it was the same as it was now? I never ran for office at my second school but I did apply for Angel Ambassadors which require stellar grades, an interview and an essay. I got kicked out for ridiculous reasons- but that’s another story.

What concerned you the most about your appearance and why?

My breasts have always been the biggest issue about my appearance.

Did your skin break out?

Yes,  my brother called me “Starry Night”

What remedies and cover-ups did you try?

I used concealer if I got a bad one otherwise I ignored it. It went away after ninth grade.

How did you size up next to your classmates?

I was taller at first because I developed early. I also had bigger breasts compared to my classmates. I also had underarm hair first which was humiliating.

Did you mature faster or more slowly than most of your friends?Faster. I got breasts at nine, bra at ten,

How did you feel about your bra size of the state of your beard?

I felt mortified when classmates made comments.

What clothes were in fashion?

I have never been good at describing clothes. I liked layered appliques

To what lengths did you go to get the right jacket, sweater shoes or accessory?

My most prize possession was my leather jacket. I got it for my sixteenth birthday.

How did you style your hair?

I cut it short and it’s been pretty short on and off since sixth grade.
