From The Book of Me: A Do it Yourself Memoir
Write About Your Favorite Teacher: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Lentini because she really nurtured my writing and helped me see I could do amazing things with it.
Describe your first school chum: —---- —---- and I were friends since kindergarten. But to be fair I knew her before that since she was my next door neighbor.
What was your family’s religious preference? Roman Catholic
How often did you go to religious services and what was it like? I went to church every Sunday and once a week I went to CCD which was completely ridiculous. Kids basically just threw crayons at each other.
Describe how you learned to skate, swim, or ride a bicycle: I loved skating. I’m a natural on roller blades. II also went to swim camp several years although I definitely learned before that. We got big kid bicycles on our birthdays- they were the big ticket item of the party.\
Write about any pets you had: The first pets I really remember were the cats we got when I was eleven: Susie (who is sadly now deceased) and Scout. Susie was a family, Scout is a black cat.
What was the most unusual animal you kept? We ponce kept a bird we rescued overnight. It’s name was Adam. Unfortunately he was dead by morning.
Were there any imaginary friends in your life: I created an entire group of characters that I would write newsletters to a fictional writers group. I also made up a friend that lived in a random house in our neighborhood
What is the first time you remember getting punished for something: I was doing stamps with Mom and Michael and I said “stamp” and Mom thought I said “Damn” and I got sent to my room.
What was most scary to you? How did you overcome the fear? I was very scared of dogs. This might be because my cousins dog was very rambunctious and I was small and she had knocked me down several times. In truth Ginger was a very gentle dog in old age.
What things you used to enjoy no longer exist? It still exists but it’s not the same. Disney Channel. I can’t believe I plastered their posters all ober my room. I’m over Sonny with a Chance and Wizards of Waverly Place (still have a soft spot for Hannah Montana)
What memories do you associate with those bygone things? I would spend so much money on these magazines for the posters then sticky tac them to my wall. I did the same for the Harry Potter movies too.
