Movies I Want to See

I’m nowhere near as big a movie buff as my boyfriend Justin but I realized there are alot of movies coming out that I want to see. Here are some of the ones that have piqued my interest. 

Civil War: I’m actually seeing this tomorrow with my boyfriend, Justin. Civil War is a dystopian film about a second Civil War. I find this movie highly relevant because for the last few months I’ve been having nightmares about exactly that. A new Civil War. Except in this case it won’t be the North vs. South. It’ll be neighbor vs. neighbor. And when that happens, no one is safe. I don’t think this movie will help the nightmares (probably not) but I’m hoping for something kind of like the Purge (I know I’m in the minority for that). 

In A Violent Nature: I saw the coming attraction for this when I was watching Late Night With The Devil. I don’t think Justin is going to be seeing this with me. This movie is a horror (which he hates)/ drama about a monster randomly going around slaughtering people. The monster kind of looked like Leatherface minus the chainsaw so naturally I now have to see it. Personally I’m hoping for as much gore as possible. Does that mean there is something wrong with me?

Smile 2: Okay, the first Smile (which I subjected poor Justin to) was amazing. Seriously, an underrated masterpiece, one of the best modern horror movies. I loved it. I really, really hope Smile 2 doesn’t let me down too much. I’ve been disappointed by many sequels but I love the premise of this series so much I’m willing to risk it. It’s about a curse: you see someone commit suicide (usually quite graphically) and within a certain number of days you also commit suicide, driven crazy by this curse. There is one way to prevent this: you must kill someone else and that frees you from the curse. I can’t wait to see what else they do with it.

Joker: Folie a Deux: Anything with the Joker I’m in. I’ll even watch it with Jared Leto (I just wish he didn’t have that stupid stuff on his teeth). This is the sequel to the movie Joker released in 2019. It was more depressing than exciting but now that Gaga is playing the love interest, the legendary Harley Quinn I have hopes this one will be even better. And don’t get me wrong, Joker wasn’t bad. But I think a twisted love affair could really enhance this story.

The Batman Part 2: This movie isn’t coming out until 2026 which seems to be an unbearably long time to wait. Robert Pattinson did very well as Batman in the first movie (which incidentally is the movie Justin asked me to be his girlfriend). Batman is my favorite superhero, plus he has the best villains so I’m really excited for this.
