  1. Thou shalt never consider an artistic venture beneath you. Publish when you can, no matter how small the magazine or how much you are getting paid. Exposure is exposure.

  2. Thou shall diversify. Don’t spend all one day on a single task or project, you’ll go crazy. Writing, collage, art, music. Dabble in all your strengths

  3. Just because something is private or won’t see the eyes of other people does not mean it is not important or that you shouldn’t give your time to it

  4. Wear metallic fingers and ink stains with pride

  5. Turn odd feelings into tangible art

  6. Deviate from a rigid schedule

  7. Keep crying as you write. Don’t try to stem the flow of thoughts or tears, it is important to get them both out.

  8. Call upon spiritual guidance. Creativity is the practice of spirituality.

  9. Read something outside your comfort zone. And actually finish the book.

  10. Use your crafts for good. Keep an eye on upcoming birthdays and holidays.
