People seem to be under the illusion that I tell everything to my blog, that it is the 21st century equivalent of my diary. It’s not. I am a very open person but there is one thing I am fiercely protective of and that is other people’s feelings/ privacy. I don’t give away the secrets/ feelings of my parents/ significant others/ friends without their permission. Otherwise my blog would be a lot juicier.
I’ve been reading this book called The Empathy Exam and I came across this disorder known as Morgellon’s. Mayoclinic.com defines Morgellon’s as “a condition characterized by a belief that parasites or fibers are emerging from the skin. People with this condition often report feeling as if something is crawling on or stinging their skin.” So creepy. To think that bugs are inside your skin and to never be sure. Doubt is such a hard thing. I deal with doubt with my OCD but somehow it is worse when bugs are involved. Everything’s worse when bugs are involved. People with Morgellon’s try to get rid of the bugs (whether or not they exist) through acid, and horse medication and horrific means that disfigure their body. Moral of the story: OCD/ bipolar? Not so bad. But how can we really compare any of this stuff? We all have our own journeys- bugs or no.
