Protein Bars Join the Contraband

This year so far I’ve given up Monster and Soda (and Facebook but that’s only for Lent). Well, I would like to add another item to the list: protein bars/ protein shakes. It started innocently enough. My gym gave me a free shake when it was my birthday. It was like they gave me crack. That stuff is addicting. Now every day I go in and get a protein bar to pump me up for my workout. But I don’t need a protein shake. I’m not looking to gain muscle. First of all, I don’t have muscle to begin with so I’m not sure where the protein bars are going (probably boobs. Everything goes to the boobs). Second, these bars don’t taste very healthy. They are basically modified Rice Krispy bars with chocolate. So I’m giving it up. I will have one shake. On my birthday. Which isn’t for another eight months. Till then no protein shakes, no protein bars. Workouts only. That’s what the gym is for.
